Welcome to the Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club. For sixty years, we’ve been the keepers of Wisconsin’s big-game story — the volunteers who measure, verify, and record game taken across our state. When the club was founded in 1965, Wisconsin had just five deer listed in the national record books. Not for any lack of great animals, but because no one was keeping score. We set out to change that, and in 1996 the State of Wisconsin made it official, recognizing the Buck & Bear Club as its big-game records keeper.
Today, more than 20,000 trophies fill our records, each one measured to Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young standards by a statewide network of certified measurers, fellow hunters, every one of them volunteers. We’re here to honor the animal, the hunt, and the tradition of fair chase, and to make sure every exceptional Wisconsin trophy earns its rightful place in our state’s history. Whether you’ve come to find a measurer, explore the records, or join the club, you’re among people who care about this as much as you do.

Since 1965, the Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club has kept the state’s official big game record — more than 25,000 whitetail, black bear, elk, and wolf entries, every one scored by a certified measurer to Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young standards. No other organization keeps a record like it, and it grows every season.
